The research group AiEM, leaded by professor Helena Coch Roura, explores the relation between architecture, the urban environment and energy.
Currently, the research in progress is focused on the effects of the urban morphology on energy aspects through the competitive project MOET. Characterization of mediterranean urban MOrphology: repercussion of irregularities and Exceptions of the Tissue in architecture energy efficiency.
AiEM has four main axes that structure its research. Nevertheless, they do not constitute closed fields but interrelated guidelines inside the architecture and energy domain.
1.Bioclimatic architecture
2. Indoors and urban comfort
3. Integration of renewable energies in architecture
4. Urban morphology and energy
